About Us
A JOURNEY FOR A CAUSE...
As perhaps you are aware, there is a rising incidence of breast cancer in India. According to ‘The International Agency for Research on Cancer’, which is part of the World Health Organization, there were approximately 79,000 women per year affected by breast cancer in India in 2001, over 80,000 women in 2002. Each year 80,000 women in India get breast cancer leading to 30,000 deaths.
To introduce ourself we are an NGO working towards the cause of creating awareness and detection of BREAST CANCER among the women living in the semi urban and rural areas of India. We provide free mammography and ultrasound to the women in the detection camps with the results on the spot.
The Manjit Kaur Chawla, MKC TRUST was launched at London by Chawla Family in memory of Mr APS Chawla’s wife, who lost her life to breast cancer at a very early age followed by the launching of MKC ROKO CANCER CHARITABLE TRUST in India. The core vision behind the trust is to bring awareness of breast cancer and to provide early detection, leading to treatment wherever possible.
