Health Education Awareness Project

OUR Aim is Reaching to the Communities OUR Objective ROKO(Stop) cancer

February 2010 to  September 2011 campaign has covered villages of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Mukhtsar, Bathianda, Faridkot , Patiala, Firozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Sangrur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Taran Taran Districts & Details are available in the website. This campaign has been a huge success in the state of Punjab, as more and more women are availing this doorstep facility and also this campaign is educating & spreading cancer awareness in every house of Punjab.

We highly appreciate the initiative of our NRI supporters worldwide who have adopted their villages in Punjab to conduct free cancer awareness and detection camps . We thank you for your support in this campaign which will save many lives. The NRI camps have been very successfully conducted  in  Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Mukhtsar,  Amritsar, Bathianda, Faridkot, Taran Taran, Firozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Sangrur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Patiala, District by doing  128 Camps, 17,463 Examination, 3,657 mammography.

Roko initiate Diabetic & Blood Pressure Tests - Adopt Your Village initiative Roko Cancer initiate Diabetic & Blood Pressure tests as it is needed to maintain a good health not leading to cancer and other ailments under NRI’s Adopt your village initiative. So far we have examined  5045 Diabetic & Blood Pressure Tests with 359 cases found high Sugar Level. The details of these camps can be viewed at:

Dr. G.P Singh Inaugurated an Awareness Campaign in mansa, Punjab with our small mobile van, which will travel through various places of Punjab and reaching to the masses, awareness pamplets were distributed this week (7th Nov - 13th Nov).

 

Cancer fund from Goverment of punjab

Roko Cancer Trust & the Government of Punjab will start our campaign in faridkot district on 3rd May 2010 at civil hospital Faridkot, the Deputy Commissioner Faridkot inaugurate the Roko Cancer First camp, and address to local public, MLA S. Dhillon & S. Mantar Singh Brar also will be there as special guest. Roko Cancer Trust will be running our program under the gueid line of Dr. Harjit Bharti Civil Surgeon Faridkot, Roko Cancer work in this district for three month and conducting the 45 camps in all over faridkot.

As you know early detection is the key to cure of cancer and the knowledge about Prevention and Early symptoms is of paramount importance for simpler and cheaper TREATMENT OF CANCER. Roko Cancer has launched another project of educating and awareness with Volunteers to educate the public especially students in Universities and colleges and with their help reaching to the community at large. Our this initiative was launched by Mr Manpreet singh Badal (Finance Minister Panjab) in Malwa region on 2nd february 2010.

Our Awareness unit goes to villages and conducting the breast cancer awareness with the help of Anganwari workers, about four to five volunteers team work on this project, showing the documentaries on breast cancer awareness to villagers’ people and deliver lecture on breast self examination to all ladies, also distribute the pamphlet to women for BSE.

We want to work with minded organizations and trained volunteers to spread the knowledge.  By our staff and after working in this project will be given a certificate of appreciation for bringing the health of community as a priority. In their Community work Roko Cancer Awareness unit covered 7 villages in Giddarbaha Gurusar, Karaiwala, Badiaya, Lundewal, Bhunder, Smagh, Maniawala. In this month We appreciate the Anganwari volunteers in the region and our coordinator Dharminder Dhillon had made his effort to launch it.
